Chatham Historic Dockyard

Live Status & Taxi Transfers

Chatham Historic Dockyard is an eighty-acre maritime heritage estate situated along the banks of the River Medway. The site preserves a significant collection of Georgian and Victorian naval architecture, including the massive timber-framed No. 3 Slip and the 1704 Commissioner’s House. It remains an active industrial site through its functional Victorian Ropery, which continues to manufacture traditional cordage. The grounds serve as a permanent home for three historic warships: a Victorian sloop, a Second World War destroyer, and a Cold War-era submarine. The facility functions as a major centre for historical preservation, film production, and educational exhibitions.
