The Marlowe Theatre

Live Status & Taxi Transfers

The Marlowe Theatre is a major performance venue in East Kent, rebuilt in 2011 to a design by architect Keith Williams. Its exterior is notable for a high-reaching stainless steel mesh skin that reflects the changing daylight of the city. The building contains a main house with three tiers of seating and a separate, smaller studio space for experimental works. It is positioned on a historic site that formerly housed a 1930s cinema. Outside the entrance, a bronze statue of the comedian Dave Lee and the "Muse of Poetry" monument celebrate the city’s long-standing connection to the performing arts.
